He has finished most of his requirements for his PHD degree in Geological Engineering at the same school.  He has experience in most of the on shore oil and gas basins of North America; working with mining as well as major oil and gas companies.

Barry’s foremost focus over the past 35 years has been researching and generating oil and gas throughout the United States. He was responsible for the discovery of the Wilburton Gasfield (2001), Wilburton, Oklahoma. Barry worked for Jerry Jones (owner of Dallas Cowboys); accumulating over 1TCF+ (trillion cubic feet of gas). In 2005 Barry discovered the Talihina Gas Field (2005) for in the Arkoma-Ouachita Basin of Oklahoma with estimated reserves of 627 BCF. He also generated seven major Gas fields in the same area, including generation geology for the Potato Hills Gasfield, one of Oklahoma's largest gas fields that has accumulated approximately 450 BCF (Billion Cubic Feet) of gas, with the potential of 2+ TCF (Trillion Cubic Feet) of gas. Barry is one of the foremost experts in the identification and development of Meteorite Impact Structures. He made an Impact Structure discovery with City Service early in his career near Charleston, West Virginia in 1980-81 with initial production of 200+ million cubic feet of gas per day 1000 CFPD. He also worked with Harold Hamm in the Ames Astroblem (120+/- million barrels of oil and large gas reservoirs) in Mayor County Oklahoma.
